Save this so you have the full recipe ready for weekend baking. Classic chocolate chip cookies, hubby approved. Team milk chocolate or semi-sweet?
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate or semi-sweet)
Steps
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Cream together with a hand mixer until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until just incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
Linewife notes
- Don’t overmix: Stop when the flour is just incorporated so the cookies stay soft.
- Pull them at golden edges: 10 to 12 minutes is plenty. They finish on the pan.
- Your chips, your call: Milk chocolate or semi-sweet both work. Hubby approved either way.
